More than replacing the failed part

A pump can start successfully and still retain the cause of its next failure

A failed bearing cartridge can be changed while corrosion beneath the mounting arrangement remains unresolved. On centrifugal and vacuum pumps alike, a new seal can be fitted without correcting the condition that shortened the life of the previous one. Internal wear components can be replaced without properly establishing the resulting clearances.

A pump and motor may be aligned correctly before the pipework is connected, then moved as the suction and discharge lines are installed. Corrosion, distortion or deterioration beneath a motor foot can create soft foot and make a satisfactory alignment difficult to maintain.

Pangea therefore considers the pump, motor, coupling, mounting arrangement and immediate pipework interfaces as one connected mechanical assembly.

Where an issue falls outside the agreed mechanical scope, Pangea identifies the interface and works with the relevant site specialist.
