Using this site

What we have done to make this site usable, and how to tell us when something is not working.

Last updated 14 August 2026

What we have done

  • Text and background colour combinations were measured against the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast standard, and the combinations that fell short were changed.
  • The site can be operated by keyboard, including the capabilities menu and the capability carousel, and the focused element is always visible.
  • Every page starts with a skip link so keyboard and screen reader users can go straight to the main content.
  • All content is present without JavaScript. The carousel renders every slide into the page; JavaScript only changes which one is shown.
  • Animation is switched off for anyone whose device is set to reduce motion.
  • Photographs carry written descriptions, and headings follow a consistent order so the page can be navigated by structure.

Where we know we fall short

Some photographs on this site were supplied at a limited resolution and may look soft on a high-density screen. We are working with better source material as it becomes available.

Telling us about a problem
